Road test waiver to obtain a Probationary License - Ends Dec. 31, 2023
Pilot program ending: Drivers under the age of 18 who have completed a driver education course, behind the wheel training, and 50 hours of supervised driving may qualify for a road test waiver through December 31, 2023. Beginning January 1, 2024, drivers will need to schedule and complete a road test. Until the end of the year, teen drivers under the age of 18 may be eligible to have their road test waived using this online system to obtain a Probationary license. Check here if you qualify.




Failure to Yield Course (Right of Way)

The Failure to Yield Course meets the state requirement of 12 units. This totals a minimum of 2 hours of instruction. This is completed online. We also need a signed contract before instruction can begin. Payment of $95 must be paid in advance.

Online Driver's Ed

This online course will meet the DMV requirements of 30 hours of online classroom instruction done in fifteen (15) 2-hour sessions when completed within 90 days of start date.

Hybrid Driver's Ed

The Hybrid course will meet the DMV requirements of 10 hours of classroom done in five (5) 2 hour sessions and 20 hours of online instruction done within 90 days of start date.

Refresher Course

We also have a Refresher Course available—5 days in the classroom—Monday - Thursday and the following Monday. If it has been more than 13 months since classroom was completed, the student must take a refresher classroom course before beginning the Behind the Wheel course.

State Requirements

The state requires the students to have 30 hours of driver education, 6 hours of behind-the-wheel, and 6 hours of observation and to have held their permit for 6 months, to get their license before they are 18.

When signing up you can do either of the following:

  1. Hybrid Class: 10 hours in class and 20 hours online. Online is self-paced and you have 90 days to finish. You are only allowed to do up to 2 hours a day. The in-class portion is 2 hours in class on specified days.
  2. The all online class is 30 hours, self-paced, up to 2 hours a day, you have 90 days to finish. After the class portion, you will need to take the permit test. You will need a signed application from us, at this time we will also schedule the behind-the-wheel lessons.
    1. You can choose to do driver education classroom and behind-the-wheel.
    2. You can choose to do driver education only and do behind-the-wheel at a different school.
    3. If you did the classroom at a different school, you can choose to do behind-the-wheel only.

After you have finished the driver education classroom course please contact us for your MV3001 for the permit test.
